The City of College Place Public Works Department is replacing all the water meters in the system starting on Tuesday, July 16th, 2019. These meters will allow the City to read the meters right from the billing office. The installation of the new meters will be contracted out to Pro Meters, Incorporated (PMI). Their employees will be driving vans with the letters PMI on the vehicle. All of their employees will have identification. The contractor will knock on the door and see if anyone is home and let them know he will be shutting off their water for a short time (approximately 20 minutes). If no one is home, the contractor will proceed with the meter change and leave a door hanger to let them know work was done on the water meter. The City anticipates this project to last approximately 6 weeks. The new meters will allow for better accuracy, notify the City of possible leaks in the customer’s water piping, free up the meter reader’s time for other necessary and needed work and other available options can be added at a later time.
Please note that only water meters within the city-operated drinking water system will be replaced. This does not cover water meters within the areas of the City served by Irrigation District #14 and the Green Tank Irrigation District.
