4th STREET/ACADEMY WAY PROJECT
This project involves reconstructing Fourth Street from Davis to Academy Way and Academy Way from Fourth Street to Whitman Drive. This will entail two traffic lanes, 5' sidewalks on both sides, a two-way "cycle track" on the south and parallel parking on the north side of 4th Street.
This project, along with local funds, has been funded entirely by the Washington's Transportation Improvement Board. The total project, including engineering, property acquisition, etc., is expected to cost $1.2 million.
PROJECT UPDATE (8/7/2018)
This project was awarded to Humbert Asphalt, Inc. and is currently underway. As of 8/7/2018, the contractor had completed the roadway grading, relocated fire hydrants, adjusted sewer lines across the project and lowered water services. All utility work including installation of conduits is complete. The contractor is currently starting installing the next to last stormwater facility with the final to be installed by the end of the week. The site is being prepared for curb with concrete (for curb) scheduled for 8/16. The project has been allotted a 70 working day window with a current end date of 10/23/2018.
